Scent.

Lately, I have not been able to get enough of lavender scents! I never remember having a liking for the beautiful purple flower, but I have become drawn to it. Lavender is known for it's calming properties, and usually it is advertised as a "relaxing" scent. I have to agree. It is extremely relaxing, calming, fresh, etc.

To me, purchasing a new fragrance is a huge decision. I have been researching the best perfumes for about two months, trying to find one that is just right. Sadly, everything I have tried on has been a disappointment. Fortunately, I found a little roll-on perfume tube in my drawer (it was given to me as a gift, and I had completely forgotten about it) and it is wonderful! The scent is from Gap's fragrance collection and it is called Lavender Tea. It is perfect for these warmer months.

I thank God everyday for all the beautiful fragrances that He has created. I am thankful for our senses and our ability to experience the beauty of his creation.

Transition.

A couple of weeks ago I put in for a transfer from Labor & Delivery to ER. My transfer request was approved and I was offered the position as an ER Tech! I am more than ecstatic about the move. I have been orienting the past couple of shifts that I work, and I absolutely love it. Even though the two shifts I worked were abnormally slow, there was a lot of traffic. I was assigned to shadow my first night, then work triage my second. In triage, I am responsible for taking vital signs on patients, transporting patients to X-RAY/US/CT, and transporting back to an ER room. After working triage until about 2AM, I was moved back to Bay 3. Bay 3 is typically the trauma area of the ER. It is where ambulances are received and high-risk patients are placed. It was awesome to be in the back where the chaos was. I know, without a doubt, that I am going to love ER.

My main worry when I was contemplating this transfer was if I would mesh well with ER staff. I love L&D. I love all the girls in L&D. They are some of my closest friends and they have taught me so much. I knew it would be hard to leave them. But, thankfully, I know that I will end up loving the ER staff just as much. They are warm, welcoming, patient, and smart (just like L&D). I can't wait to get to know everyone.

I know this was the right decision and I am so blessed and extremely thankful to have an opportunity as rewarding as this. I have a lot to learn, but I know that this experience will help shape me into the best possible physician that I can be.

Procrastination at its finest.

Instead of studying for my cardiac test, I've made a blog.
And instead of writing a legit post, I'm going to post my homework...

I promise future posts will be way better than this, but really, the heart is a pretty amazing organ.
